Chad Smith
Owner
Chad is a graduate of the Athens High School class of 1993. He is a veteran who was a medic in the Army National Guard. He began his career in HVAC in 1994 after military training. He attended Calhoun Community College, majoring in criminal justice. Chad was hired by the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office as a 3rd shift patrol deputy and SRT (Special Response Team) member. He continued his HVAC career with Billy Adams Company in Athens, AL, during the day and patrolled Limestone County at night. In 2009, Chad joined the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office as a criminal investigator. Chad retired from law enforcement in 2018 as a patrol supervisor.
In 2018, Chad went to work for a large HVAC company in Huntsville as a general manager. After approximately 6 years, Chad decided he did not like the customer service that larger franchise businesses offer. It seemed to him that the customer was the last thought about, and it was always about profit.
Chad and his wife Katrina decided to open their own HVAC business so they could run a transparent, honest, and great customer service business and get back to the basics of great customer service. It’s called Chad’s Climate Control Heating & Air, based out of Athens, AL, Chad & Katrina’s hometown.
Katrina Smith
Owner
Katrina is a graduate of Ardmore High School, class of 2006. She attended Jacksonville State University, majoring in criminal justice with a minor in marketing in 2010. She began her career with AT&T in marketing in 2011. She later went to work for Serv-Pro in marketing in 2019. Katrina’s dream was to work with Chad side by side daily. Chad hired Katrina in dispatch at the larger HVAC company in Huntsville in 2021. Katrina resigned with Chad in 2024 when they decided to open Chad’s Climate Control Heating & Air, where she continues to work side by side with Chad daily.
Joe Steelman
Service Manager
Joe is a US Army veteran. Joe brings our team over 27 years of experience in the HVAC industry! He has numerous certificates from every equipment manufacturer. Joe was previously an instructor for a distinguished HVAC school. Joe is now responsible for the training and coaching of our technicians here at Chad’s Climate Control Heating & Air. He is also responsible for second opinions of condemned equipment and the sales of replacing the equipment if he seconds the recommendation.
William Rodney Jackson
Sales Manager
Rodney began his career with the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office in 1993. He worked numerous jobs: patrol deputy, DARE officer, investigator, patrol supervisor, and SRO (School Resource Officer) commander. Rodney later went into insurance sales. He decided to jump on board with Chad's Climate Control Heating & Air in 2026 to supervise the sales of the business and ensure all customers are getting top-notch service.
Scott Wolter
Install Manager
Scott has over 37 years in the HVAC industry in service and installation. He efficiently supervises all the installation crews and oversees all installation jobs to ensure all customers are getting the best installation available and to ensure the equipment has a longevity of service for the customers.
Tyler Berry
Service Technician
Tyler is NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certified. He has extensive professional experience with customer service and the trade of HVAC. He has been trained personally by Chad in service.
Aaron Dove
Service Technician
Aaron is a US Marine veteran. He is a dedicated technician who always has the customer’s best interest in mind. He has been an HVAC technician for Chad's Climate Control Heating & Air since leaving the Marine Corps in 2024. He has been trained personally by Chad in his job role as a service technician.
Noah Perkins
Install Crew leader
Noah began his career in HVAC with Chad in 2024. He started out as an install apprentice. Noah quickly moved to an install crew leader position due to his attention to detail and having a great work ethic. Noah has been trained by Scott Wolter.
Robert Lewis “Bobby”
Install Crew Leader
Bobby is an army combat veteran. He has received two Purple Hearts. Bobby began his career in HVAC with a small company in Hartselle, AL. Bobby came to work with Chad's Climate Control Heating & Air in 2025 as an install crew leader. Bobby finds self-worth in his position at Chad’s. Bobby strives to offer his best effort on every job he is on.
Laquavian Summers
Install Apprentice
Laquavian began his career in HVAC in 2026 with Chad’s. Laquavian wants to learn all the jobs in trade to be able to properly provide for his family. Laquavian always has a smile on his face and is always looking for ways to improve himself.
Tez Stone
Install Apprentice
Tez is a newlywed who is looking for a career in the HVAC industry to provide for his new family. Tez began with Chad’s in 2025. Tez wants to become an HVAC service technician after he learns all steps of proper installation.
Tasha Stewart
Dispatcher
Tasha came to Chad’s in 2026. Tasha has an extensive background in customer service. She came from a busy doctor’s office as a secretary. Tasha prioritizes herself in doing the right thing and is a people pleaser.
